BIRA BEACH

Tanjung Bira is a beach located in Kecamatan Bonto Bahari, about 40 km from Kota Bulukumba. The beach known for its white sand that is very  convenient and easy to reach. Tanjung Bira is  very attractive that you can see fishermen with small boats come and go to fish at night. There are many facilities available in Tanjung Bira such as hotels, villas, and restaurants along the coast. 

Appalarang Beach

The location of this beach has its own distinctive charm and beauty with such cool sea. The perfect heaven of marine tourism can be seen from the crystal clear sea and blue ocean and white sand stretches along the shore with strong cliffs stand tall around. The amazing scenery would soothe the eyes. Perfect choice to getaway from hectic routine.

Tana Beru The Place of Phinisi Craftsman

Tana Beru is known for its traditional boat craftsmanship. The well-known Bugis schooners – the Phinisi are built here. Phinisi is built without technical drawing, one just mentions how big the schooner he/she wants then the boat builders here will soon built it accordingly. 

TRADITIONAL VILLAGE OF KAJANG

The Konjo society of Kajang or the black costumed people live here. The Kajang community still keeps the centuries old tradition ruled by Pasang Ri Kajang, which can be translated as “The Messages from Kajang”. No other color but black. No electricity, no  motorized vehicle. To reach the heart of Kajang one has to walk. The governing person of Kajang called Amatoa which is elected through the superstitious signal

TITIK NOL SULAWESI SELATAN

It is only two kilometers away from Pantai Bira, Bulukumba’s primadonna destinaton, tourists can visit this new tourism object named Titik Nol which literally translated as “Ground Zero”. Historically, Titik Nol was the starting point for wholesome Sulawesi mapping in Dutch colonial era. Both views of sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed from the top of the cliffs is the unique of Titik Nol, in addition to glass bridge attraction and crystal-clear sea view.

PANAIKANG BIRAYYA

Bulukumba Regency seems to never run out of presenting tourist attractions to tourists. Panaikang Birayya is a cliff with various ‘instagramable’ photo spots against a vast view of azure sea, perfect for young tourists who like to show off their travel journey on social media.

Photo spots in the form of hammocks, rainbow bridges or heart-shaped plant roots – all built by local residents – are perfect for selfies.

Maros

RAMMANG-RAMMANG KARTS

This river has beautiful panorama that it is fascinating to have excursions along the streams. It is located in Desa Salenrang, about 7 kms from Maros and one hour from Makassar. Traditional boat is used to reach this place. There are mangrove and nipah trees on both right and left sides along the way and also the karst rises from the bottom of river. Kampung Rammang-Rammang is the end point of the trip, you can see rows of exotic karst hills stand tall like fortress. 

National Park Bantimurung Bulusaraung

Bantimurung is a perfect karst ecosystem with dense rain forest, waterfall and caves which are  favorable environments for the butterflies. Bantimurung is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the province. There is also Gua Mimpi (dream cave) with its stalactite and stalagmite. Bantimurung is packed with thousands of local visitors at the weekend and public holidays.

Prehistoric Park Leang – Leang

Leang-leang Prehistoric Park is located along the karst slope. According to Archeologists this place was used to be inhabited about 3000-8000 BC which can be seen the hands stencils (printing) and babi rusa on the wall of the caves. Sea fossils can be found in the caves symbolized that these caves used to be full of sea water.

Toraja

KETE-KESU

One of the tourism villages in Toraja Utara that has been popular not only for its beautiful landscape,but also its traditional grave and rituals, such as “Rambu Solo” and “Rambu Tuka.

Bori Kalimbuang

This destination is in Kecamatan Sesean, Kabupaten Toraja Utara, nine kilometers northward from Rantepao. This tourism object is a megalitic site with more than a hundred of menhirs and stones with various sizes. Bori Kalimbuang h  as always been the place for funeral ceremony and traditional graveyard. Tourists also could see a Balakayyan, a wooden/bamboo tower to give meat when sacrificing ceremony is held. There is also Lakkian, a small hut to lay down the mummified corpse in ceremony. 

Lolai

The natural beauty of Toraja – now divided into two different regencies: Tana Toraja and North Toraja – has been the prima donna of tourism. Even today, its natural beauty seems to never cease to amaze tourists. Lolai, the village above the clouds, is another tourist attraction in North Toraja which is being favored by tourists today, both foreign and domestic

Imagine watching the natural beauty of North Toraja from an altitude of 1,300 meters MSL with a blanket of clouds-like fog under the soles of your feet. To get this enchanting view, tourists are advised to come early in the morning and to sip a cup of hot Torajan coffee in the cold air of Lolai would be a perfect choice while waiting. 

Londa

This high cliff with green grassland at the front is burial site for noble family of the Toraja tribe. Entering the Londa area, visitors would be greeted by ‘tedong saleko’, albino carabao with dark spots with prices that can reach billions of rupiah. ‘Tedong’ or carabao, is sacred animal for Toraja people who are believed would deliver them to the afterlife or ‘puya’. While ‘tedong saleko’ is the highest class carabao for the Toraja people.

At the front of Londa, lines of ‘tau-tau’ which is a statue of the corpse buried in this place. Not only that, erong (coffins) are also lined up there. But that is only the beginning of an adventure, because Goa Londa is so compelling to explore. The depth of Goa Londa itself is estimated at 900 to 1000 meters. Visitors can rent a lamp and a guide before exploring the dark interior of Londa Cave without electricity. 

Pango-Pango

It is a wood on 1,600-1,700 asl that is 10 kilometers away from Kota Makale. Pango-pango is not only famous for its beautiful wood view, but also it also offers high ground to have Makale citygazing. Not only that, the tourists can sip a delicious cup of local coffee while enjoying sunrise in the morning and sunset in the afternoon. Other additional facilities are available such as gazebos, flying fox, high swing, pathway, beautiful garden for picnic, and restrooms.

Wajo / Sengkang

Danau Tempe

Tempe Lake is a tectonic lake that stretches across three regencies in South Sulawesi, including Wajo Regency, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, and Soppeng Regency. This lake is considered an ancient lake because the formation of this lake coincided with the formation of the mainland of Sulawesi which is on the Australian and Asian plates. The area is about 350 km2 and makes it the second largest lake in Sulawesi. This lake also has various freshwater fish species that are rarely found elsewhere.

The main attraction of Lake Tempe is the presence of a mountain range that stretches majestically on the background of this vast lake. 

Silk Handwaving Village

If you would like to see the process of silk handwaving process, started from the mulberry planting to the weaving activity, this agro-tourism destination is a right choice. It is located in Kecamatan Tanasitolo, 3 kilometers from Kota Sengkang, you could order and buy silk directly from the local weavers.
